Aims

To enable you to develop skills in working with survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA)

The training will provide you with an awareness of the effect of CSA and how it can effect survivors in a group context. The course is designed to give you:

*Practical group work experience
*An understanding of group work with survivors of CSA
*An understanding of the role of a facilitator
*The necessary tools to become a group support worker with Safe Space
















Content

The course covers the following areas:
*Understanding the impact of childhood sexual abuse on survivors
*Using a group context to explore the impact of CSA on survivors
*Focus on facilitating/spupport work
*Group work experience on placement
*Group work supervision while on placement
*Relating your group work placement experience to the group work training course
*Becoming a group support worker (GSW) with Safe Space
